THE COURSES
OMBRÉ BROW
MICROSHADING
WHY OUR COURSE
Ombré Powder Brow Class is a two-day, intensive training course that includes everything from an introduction into machine shading to in-depth color theory and practicing on live models. Training is hands-on in a real-world environment, so each student gains the technical skills and confidence needed to start working directly after graduation.
Ombré shading is the newest trend in permanent makeup. This training is suited for beginners and advanced students. You will learn the technique and the proper use of the PMU device to achieve Ombré shading brows, which gives a soft shaded brow pencil look. Once healed, it is more natural looking than solid color. It gives great definition and depth to the brows. Unlike microblading, this technique is fantastic for all skin types, including oily. Shading technique is versatile as the technique can be performed alone as well as combining with microblading whether the client is looking for a subtle or bold brow. The retention and healing results tend to be better in comparison to microblading. During the training, you will practice on paper, latex skin and one live model. We keep our classes small in order to give you the proper one on one guidance you deserve.
This course is designed for students who have an interest in Ombre powder brows (microshading), or who have a passion within the beauty industry and want to expand their talents within their business to provide clients with the most realistic eyebrow procedure
Our course is Approved by the Division of Private Business and Vocational Schools of the Illinois Board of Higher Education. This ensures that we set and maintain standards at the highest level.

MICROBLADING
WHY OUR COURSE
The Intro to Microblading Training Course is a 3-day intensive designed to introduce you to the world of microblading and shading so that you may become a working microblading or shading artist. This comprehensive class, taught by owner & trainer Lisa Pizzello. You will learn all aspects of microblading and manual shading, from profiling clients to drawing eyebrows to consent forms. You will leave this class confident and eager to practice and master your craft. Class is limited to 6 students.
Once qualified though, the rewards can be substantial. Treatments by licensed and insured technicians are charged at between $300 and $1000, depending upon skill and demographic. There’s no huge investment in equipment or materials other than preparing your treatment area. It’s also a treatment that can make a lasting difference to clients with damaged, over-plucked or badly shaped brows and it can bring a huge amount of job satisfaction.
In theory, you don’t need to be qualified to perform microblading but, in practice, you won’t be able to get a licence for your premises or treatment insurance if you do not have proper training. Performing the treatment while unlicensed and uninsured leaves you exposed to legal action and it is, at the least, irresponsible, to carry out any invasive treatment with lasting effects, if you have not had the proper training.
How is Microblading different than Machine Tattooing?
Microblading is not the same as cosmetic tattooing carried out using a machine. Microblade strokes lightly score the surface layers of the skin (Epidermis) while machine tattoos penetrate into the deeper layers (Dermis). The surface layers are renewed over time, so microblade strokes will naturally fade while pigment implanted by a machine will remain deep in the skin. Microblading therefore, can be a semi-permanent makeup technique. Follow-up appointments will be necessary to maintain the full effect.
So What Makes the Best Microblading Training?
You will firstly need to learn how to perform the treatment safely, how to avoid infection and cross-contamination; both for your client’s sake, and your own.
How to identify contraindications and ensure that your client suffers no ill effects.
You will need to be able to design eyebrows that compliment and enhance your client’s face.
Recognizing how the eyebrow affects our perception of face shape.
Color theory is a must, not only knowing how to match pigments, but recognizing skin undertones and understanding how they will affect color selection.
Last but not least, you will need expert instruction in the microblading procedure itself.
From drawing a balanced and well proportioned template to implanting the pigment with the manual pen at the correct depth in the skin. Other aspects of manual brow tattooing such as pain management, skin stretching and aftercare must also be covered in sufficient detail to give you the confidence to get on and actually perform the procedure as soon as possible.
There are definitely a lot of options when it comes to semi-permanent/PMU makeup training so you might ask what makes our microblading course different?
-
Our Microblading Masterclass covers the A-Z of semi-permanent manual eyebrow tattooing over 4 days of intensive instruction.
-
You will get to perform your first treatment on a live model in the class, with every step supervised by a master eyebrow artist.
-
You get on going support from your trainer so you do not feel left alone.
-
You get a course that is Approved by the Division of Private Business and Vocational Schools of the Illinois Board of Higher Education. This ensures that we set and maintain standards at the highest level.

OMBRÉ MICROSHADING
Lisa is simply AMAZING!! I recently took Lisa's powder brow course and learned so much! Lisa is very knowledgeable in this field. Not only are you paying for the course but you also get ongoing support from Lisa. If you're doing your research on for the best class this is it hands down. I love that the classes are very tiny, 2-3 people a class which gives you a better opportunity to really focus and ask as many questions as you need. Lisa was very encouraging and always had a solution for any problem I came to her with. I can't wait to go back and take additional training. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!! Thank You Lisa

MICROBLADING
If you're considering microblading training in Chicago, you've found it! I took a hands on microblading class at The Beauty Crew Academy and I'm so happy I did. Lisa was such a patient instructor and really stayed with me until I "got it". I was worried I wouldn't learn enough in four days, but she made it so easy to take everything in. Since taking her class I've reached out for help and she's not shy with her tips! Best investment I've made.

MICROBLADING
Lisa Pizello is amazing with her instruction. I took part in her microblading certification - she only takes two per class (class consists of two 8 hour days). She provided us each a model to do our first service one, which was great as I left feeling confident in my ability to continue on my own. Probably more notable than all that, she continues to be available on an ongoing basis for help, including, but not limited to, random questions on the procedure, product/supply recommendations, and marketing ideas. Highly recommend certifying with The Beauty Crew! Thanks again, Lisa!
